So, Islam is a religion of peace?  Is that not what we are told on an almost daily basis?  Tell that to the families of the over a million people in Darfur who have been systematically exterminated.  Not because they have done something wrong but merely because they belong to the wrong group.  Either they are Christian or they are black.  The Arab government of Sudan has taken it upon themselves to do an "ethnic cleansing".  If you or your family do not fit in to the right mold you are marked for elimination.
Babies and children are ripped from their mother's arms and thrown into burning fire pits to burn to death.  Young boys are having their arms and legs macheteed off to eliminate their potential 'threat'.  Womed and girls of all ages are being raped and murdered at the hands of these monsters.  And nearly all in the region are being starved and deprived of water.
These people are being subjected to the worst kinds of physical and emotional tortures and yet there is no outrage.  Where is the outrage?!  Why are our news outlets not filled with the sights and sounds and realities going on in this very poor, very deprived area of the world?  Now that it is beginning to spread, to the small country of Chad and into South Africa, maybe people will notice.  How long before the world has ignored it long enough that it is now unstoppable?  What will it take for the west to get involved?  Does it have to be on our doorstep?
Have the American people, the British people, the Canadien people and all the other 'western' civilizations become so hardened that there is no room in our hearts to help?
If this is what we have become, there is no hope.  I refuse to believe it.  I call upon all of the media outlets to immediately take on a campaign of education.  We cannot fight what we do not know exists.  
Boycott all sponsors of the Chinese Olympics as the Chinese are doing all they can to stop the UN from halting the genocide.  The Chinese get nearly all their oil from the Sudanese.  Go to the Miafarrow.org website to get more info.
Finally, I ask, if we don't stop this, who will stop it when it appears on our doorstep?  Make a stand.  Do all you can to help those who need it the most.  Do not be afraid.  Do not ignore what you can't see because it is so 'far away'.  Tell our government it is time to END THE GENOCIDE!!  Demand that those in power get involved.  Educate your families and those around you.  Together we can stop this.
